| Worldwide, whoever wishes reliable information on a tourist destination can always count on the services of an organization called The Convention &Visitors Bureau. Maringa’s Region Convention & Visitors Bureau (MRCVB) is the right choice when it comes to visiting Maringá, its districts and surrounding neighborhoods. The Bureau stands for an independent and nonprofit organization which aims to unveil and develop the city and its region. MRCVB was created and is maintained by public and private companies related to tourism and the event and travel industry. It is responsible for the planned development of tourist activity, effectively including Maringa in the tourist circuit worldwide. |
| :: Main tasks Due to the activities of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (MRCVB), the city gained an effective supporter in promoting tourism and events, with positive consequences for the local and regional economy by increasing the activity within segments directly or indirectly linked to the sector. Besides giving support to a planned strategy to boost businesses of the local maintainers (sponsors) and stimulating the introduction of new means of promoting the city, it also encouraged the creation and promotion of events in Maringá. The MRCVB also devotes special attention to training and enhancing the performance of professionals in the tourism industry by developing partnerships with local schools and training centers. |
| :: Goals • Attract and generate events, fairs and congresses for the city, in order to increase tourism demand and, in turn, generating business. • FEncourage the development and growth of existing events that correspond to the goals of MRCVB. • Attend conventions, symposias and related events which might help to attract tourists and promote the city as a tourist destination. • Maintain technical exchanges with similar institutions and cultural organizations and eventually associate with them. • Promote a continued update regarding tourism trends in order to favor competitive terms for the tourism market regulation. |
| :: Benefits to sponsors Priority access to information about captured (attracted) events as well as access to organizations contacted by the MRCVB and also the dynamics of future business opportunities. Exclusive access to MRCVB´s database (tourism infrastructure and events, economic indicators, annual agenda and schedule of Maringá´s region events). Opportunities for disclosure of institutional information on the MRCVB (maps, brochures, guides, calendars). Disclosure (promotion) of basic information (name, phone, fax, email, area of action) of maintainers (sponsors) on the official site of the MRCVB as well as in marketing campaigns. Exclusive distribution of promotional brochures of sponsors in the events in which the MRCVB takes part. The following branches are welcomed to become sponsors: hotels, airlines, tour companies, event promoters, rental car, entertainment and leisure establishments, restaurants, nightclubs, service providers, shops, universities and companies or organizations in general which have an affinity for the tourism sector and are also interested in promoting tourism as a means of strengthening the local economy. In turn sponsors will be helping to bring visitors to the city for short and, possibly, long stays. Visitors are to be encouraged to return and disclose (promote) the city positively due to responsiveness found here.
